Welcome to the Corpus Christi College Oxford crowdfunding platform on Hubbub! This place is a unique way to connect to students, alumni, and friends of the college online. Corpus was founded by Bishop Richard Fox of Winchester in 1517. Its choir is now eagerly looking forward to recording this Christmas CD to celebrate Corpus' 500th anniversary year. We hope to cover the costs of this endeavour through crowdfunding.
What is crowdfunding?
Crowdfunding is a commonly used method of raising money to fund projects of multiple varieties, from charitable functions to cultural enterprises. Donors pledge certain sums of money in return for different rewards, ranging from small gifts to large private engagements with the organisers.
The college has already agreed to fund Corpus' upcoming CD, to be released in Autumn 2016. Crowdfunding is one method of paying them back before the CD is put on general sale, so that profits from CD sales can be immediately reinvested into Corpus Music, funding both opportunities for the choir (such as singing workshops or contributions towards tours) and for other music groups across the college (such as the newly re-formed Corpus orchestra). By participating in crowdfunding, you can personally contribute to the ongoing success of the Choir!
